Moscow: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow this week as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of Government meeting. He delivered a strong message on terrorism, economic volatility and the need for organizational reform.
"Called on President Putin along with other Heads of SCO Delegations this afternoon," he posted on X. In his remarks to SCO leaders, Jaishankar reiterated India’s uncompromising position on terrorism, stressing that the organisation must remain anchored in its founding mandate to combat the "three evils" of terrorism, separatism and extremism.
"We must never forget that the SCO was founded to combat the three evils of terrorism, separatism and extremism. These threats have become even more serious in the years that have passed," he said.
"It is imperative that the world displays zero tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. There can be no justification, no looking away and no whitewashing," he added.
