Indian-origin doctor attends Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit

Dr Jaivir Rathore, president of Doctors of Rajasthan International Foundation, a philanthropic organization that works for the benefit of the state of Rajasthan, representing non-resident Rajasthani people towards the development and enhancement of healthcare services, was in India this week to take part in the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit in Jaipur.

Dr Rathore, who was born in a village in Rajasthan and studied neurology in the US, is also the co-chairman of the Epilepsy Foundation of America (Florida chapter), President & CEO, DocJ’s Advanced Neurology & Epilepsy Freedom Center in Orlando, Florida USA.

Besides attending the event, the US-based doctor was also present at the Non-Resident Rajasthani (NRR) Conclave on December 10 as the Guest of Honour. It was held at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre at Sitapura, Jaipur.

The NRR Conclave was spearheaded by the Rajasthan Foundation, an organization set up by the Rajasthan government to work towards strengthening bonds between non-resident Rajasthanis and their home state.

Speaking with The South Asian Times, Dr Rathore said, “I see it as a new chapter of increased cooperation and collaboration between the NRI diaspora and India, especially given both the state of Rajasthan and central government showing interest and commitment with personal supervision by PM Modi.”

On December 9, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the summit and said the desert state has immense business potential. He also praised the state's Bharatiya Janata Party government, for its proactive approach to development. He said Rajasthan is not only a rising state but also reliable.

The event also saw the presence of several distinguished guests, including industry captains, politicians, and foreign dignitaries. Businessmen Gautam Adani, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Anil Agarwal, and Anand Mahindra and political leaders like Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, former chief minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje, and cabinet minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore were also present.
