Canberra: The Consul General of India in Perth, Kajari Biswas, attended Jharkhand State Formation Day celebrations this week, which also marked the 150th birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda - the great tribal freedom fighter and symbol of India’s indigenous pride and resistance.

Organized by the Bihar Jharkhand Samaj of Western Australia, the evening was marked by vibrant cultural performances, festive spirit, and a strong sense of community, reflecting the deep-rooted connections between the Indian diaspora and their cultural heritage.
The Consul General appreciated the efforts of the Bihar Jharkhand Samaj of WA for bringing the community together and for promoting Indian traditions in Western Australia.
The Consul General also attended the Bijoy Mela organized by the Bengali Association of Western Australia (BAWA) on November 12. The vibrant event showcased the rich tapestry of Bengali art, culture, music, and cuisine. Renowned actor Rajatava Dutta captivated the audience and made the evening truly delightful.
