On the occasion, President Jaya Bhooplapur announced that the club will be donating 100 beds to a charitable hospital in Mysuru, Karnataka.
The Rotary Club of Jericho Sunrise — the only all-women Rotary in New York — celebrated its 15th anniversary on March 15, 2025, at Crest Hollow Club in Woodbury.
The black-tie event was attended by Rotarians, guests, and prominent members of the community, including past District Governors Ravi Bhooplapur and Kamlesh Mehta, and Town Clerk of North Hempstead, Ragini Srivatsava. Rotary District Governor-Elect (DGE) Lydia Wells was the Guest of Honor.

In the past 15 years, the club has undertaken several service projects which have brought relief to many in need. Some of the club’s signature projects have been:
- Funding and facilitating 1600 life-saving heart surgeries for children in need through ‘Gift of Life India’;
- Providing laptops and funding SAT prep courses for high school students from Wyandanch;
- Every year the club undertook the ‘Back to School Project ‘providing backpacks and school supplies to the ‘Safe Centre of Long Island’;
- Organizing Annual Thanksgiving lunch and gifts to underprivileged children and youth at the TRI CYA Huntington;
- Conducting an annual holiday drive donating toys and books to children at Northwell and Elmhurst hospitals and funding Cancer Hospital in Ambala, India;
- Brought relief to hundreds of underprivileged women in need from third-world countries with medical missions led by one of the members Dr Isha Mehta in conducting technically advanced constructive surgeries;
- Undertook ‘Operation Shoebox Project’ where the club packed shoe boxes with non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, and much-needed warm socks which were then air dropped to our troops in Afghanistan;

The club has also risen to the occasion whenever there has been a calamity by raising funds for relief work like the recent wildfires in California or the cyclones in Chennai and Orissa.
Continuing with their mission to serve the community, the club's President Jaya Bhooplapur announced they will be donating 100 beds to Amrita Mai Hospital, a charitable hospital in Mysuru, Karnataka.
Each year the club has had a president leading and upholding the noble Rotary motto of ‘Service above Self’. The 15 presidents are Rotarians Vimmi Sikka, Jaya Bhooplapur, Sangeeta Bahl, Sangita Matlani, Sangeeta Sethi, Bina Advani, Dr Isha Mehta, Rachna Sabharwal, Gayathri Rajan, Priya Suri, Rachna Shahdadpuri, and Dr Meenu Maheshwari. Some of them, including Jaya Bhooplapur and Sangeeta Bahl, have served two terms as president.
All 15 presidents were honored at the event by DGE Lydia Wells and President Jaya Bhooplapur. The Chair and Co-Chair for the event were Rotarians Sangeeta Bahl and Gayathri Rajan. The vote of thanks was given by President-elect Sunita Sadhnani.
The club was started by Ravi Bhooplapur during his governorship in 2009.
