Muscat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that while the world's biggest economies were struggling, India continued to be the fastest-growing economy while addressing the Indian diaspora in Muscat as part of the Maitri Parv program.
PM Modi said India's growth rate remained above 8?spite global challenges. "A few days ago, economic growth data was released - India's growth has been above 8%. This means India remains the fastest-growing major economy, even as the world faces challenges," he said.
"While the biggest economies struggle for a few per cent growth, India continues at a high growth rate, showcasing the country’s capabilities," he further underscored.
The GDP of India, now the world's fourth-largest economy, grew 8.2% in the quarter ending September, picking up from the strong 7.8% expansion in the preceding quarter. The growth appeared to defy the punitive 50% tariffs slapped by US President Donald Trump on the country's exports in August.
