Oscar-winning music director MM Keeravani is set to lend his musical brilliance to one of India’s most significant national moments. The celebrated music director will helm a special rendition of Vande Mataram at this year’s Republic Day parade, marking a historic milestone for the iconic song.
The occasion coincides with the 150th anniversary of the iconic patriotic song, giving the moment both historical and emotional weight. Sharing the news on X, MM Keeravani wrote, “On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the iconic song Vande Mataram, I feel deeply honored and privileged to have composed the music for the 26th January Republic Day Parade, under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture."
Keeravani said that the grand presentation will be performed by 2,500 artists from across India. "Stay tuned as we come together to celebrate the spirit of our nation —Vande Mataram," he added.
The announcement comes at a time when the composer has been drawing attention globally for his recent work associated with SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film, 'Varanasi'.
