Moscow: Russian air defense forces destroyed many Ukrainian drones on June 24 in different regions of Russia, including more than 40 drones near the border in the Voronezh region, Russian officials said. Alexander Gusev, governor of the Voronezh region, said on Telegram that no one was hurt during the attacks.

Russia’s defense ministry also posted on Telegram that 44 drones were intercepted and destroyed during a period of about four hours. Most of the drones were downed over the Voronezh and Belgorod regions near Ukraine, and some were destroyed over areas along the Volga River. As a precaution, airports close to the Volga River were temporarily closed.

Meanwhile, Russia has also stepped up drone and missile attacks on Ukraine. On June 24, at least 17 people were killed in Russian air strikes on southeastern Ukraine, damaging schools, hospitals, and a passenger train, BBC reported.
