'Dhurandhar 2' breaks premiere advance booking record

The Ranveer Singh film opened to a massive advance booking response, selling 87,000 tickets within 24 hours.

'Dhurandhar 2', the Ranveer Singh starrer upcoming action spy thriller, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on March 19, with paid premieres scheduled a day earlier on March 18. Even before hitting the big screen, the film has already created tremendous buzz among moviegoers.

Within the first 24 hours alone, the film managed to sell an impressive 87,000 tickets. On BookMyShow itself, the film recorded 87.81K ticket sales during that period. The Aditya Dhar directorial has already surpassed the pre-sales figures of several major Hindi films, including 'Stree 2', 'Chennai Express', 'Padmaavat' and '3 Idiots'.

Trade tracking reports further highlighted the speed at which the tickets were snapped up. According to one report, “As soon as advance booking opened for 'Dhurandhar 2', the Ranveer-starrer sold tickets worth Rs 4 crore worldwide in just under two hours.”

A closer look at the figures shows that Rs 2.50 crore came from the major multiplex chains—PVR, INOX Leisure Limited, and Cinepolis—where around 35,000 tickets were sold.

'Dhurandhar' hits 22 million Netflix views

As anticipation builds for 'Dhurandhar 2', the first chapter of the espionage-thriller remains a global hit, holding its spot among the top 10 films on streaming worldwide. The film set a new record of securing 22 million views on OTT.

In its fifth week on Netflix, Dhurandhar drew 1.3 million views, securing the ninth spot among non-English films globally for the period of February 23 to March 1, as reported by Sacnilk. In just over a month since its Netflix debut, the film has reached a total of 22 million views in 31 days so far, the report mentioned.
