Mumbai: The industrial city of Mumbai witnessed an unforgettable spiritual and historic occasion on September 28. Under the auspices of the Mahavirayatan Foundation and the guidance of Swami Shri Devendra Brahmachari, a grand celebration of Saints’ Confluence and Forgiveness Day was held at Terapanth Bhavan, Kandivali (East).
In his impactful address, Swami Shri Devendra Brahmachari emphasized, “Forgiveness Day must be recognized at the international level. Today, every individual is under stress, but the very moment one seeks or offers forgiveness, life becomes free from tension and discord. Forgiveness is the foundation of harmony and coexistence. Lord Mahavir, by giving the principle of forgiveness, has shown humanity the path to live with peace, non-violence, and love.”
The festival commenced with the lighting of the sacred lamp and the unveiling of the auspicious portrait of Lord Mahavir. Revered saints Kuldip Muni and Mukul Muni expressed their pious thoughts on the great festival of forgiveness. The cultural segment included devotional dance and invocation presented by Tina Jain’s team, while Pt Kamal Kumar Kamalankur recited a soulful prayer.
Governor of Punjab Gulabchand Kataria paid homage to the saints and felicitated Swami Devendra Brahmachari. He remarked that such events spread the message of forgiveness, harmony, and unity in society, adding that forgiveness is the greatest strength in human life. Maa Hansa Yogendra, Director of The Yoga Institute, said, “Forgiveness should not be confined to society alone but must blossom in every home and every heart.” She stressed the need to cultivate forgiveness within families to reduce rising tensions.
A highlight of the event was the release of the inspirational booklet “Bharat Gaurav”, based on the life and contributions of Swami Shri Devendra Brahmachari.
