Celebrating the Vishwa Navkar Mahamantra Diwas in New Delhi on April 9, Home Minister Amit Shah underscored the significance of the Navkar Mahamantra, saying its collective chanting can promote peace and harmony at a time when conflicts persist across the world. The chanting was organized by the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), simultaneously chanted at 9 am by millions of people of all religions in more than 120 countries. Last year, PM Narendra Modi joined the event at Vigyan Bhawan. The mantra is passed down through centuries and rooted in the teachings of 24 Jain Tirthankaras.
