Fremont, CA: The Association of Indo Americans (AIA) hosted a large-scale community service event titled “Giving Back to Local Community Together” in Fremont on December 14, 2025, bringing together civic leaders, first responders, nonprofit organizations, families, and volunteers in a collective show of service and solidarity.

The event drew nearly 200 attendees, including more than 25 elected officials and community leaders, underscoring a shared commitment to public service and community well-being. AIA expressed gratitude to supporters and volunteers whose contributions helped make the initiative a success.

As part of the program, AIA and its partners presented donations to three local organizations: the Fremont Police Department, to support youth programs and student scholarships; the Fremont Fire Department, to provide toys for children in need; and the Tri-City Volunteers Food Bank, to assist residents facing food insecurity.

The gathering was supported by numerous community partners, including Charminar Indian Restaurant & Catering, PharmaTek Solutions, Droisys Inc., Athenatec Inc., CityCities Inc., Bay Area Community Health (BACH), ICAI San Francisco, Vetri Labs, the Sewa Diwali Food Drive Team, The Gopinath Law Offices, Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert, and the Fremont Chamber of Commerce.

The event was attended by the entire Fremont City Council under the leadership of Mayor Dr. Raj Salwan, along with Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson and Milpitas Mayor Carmen Montano. Other dignitaries included representatives from the Indian Consulate in San Francisco, regional chambers of commerce, school boards, healthcare organizations, and public safety departments.

During the program, AIA formally recognized first responders, community leaders, and service organizations for their continued efforts to enhance public safety, health, and quality of life across the region. Guest speakers emphasized the importance of local engagement, noting that sustained community involvement plays a key role in building a stronger and more connected society.

To encourage civic participation among younger generations, children under 18 showcased artwork as part of an arts competition. Winners Sriameyaa Yasala (first place) and Pranavi Pramod (second place) were honored during the event.

AIA, a coalition of more than 50 nonprofit organizations across Silicon Valley, said the initiative reflects its ongoing mission to foster collaboration and service at the grassroots level. Organizers thanked community partners and public officials for their support and said they look forward to expanding future efforts aimed at strengthening and uplifting the local community.
