Madrid: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has underscored India's enhanced global positioning, highlighting its increasing relevance in international affairs. Addressing an Indian community event in Spain, Jaishankar stated that the world views strong ties with India as mutually beneficial, emphasizing India's focus on the philosophy of “sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas” on a global scale.
Jaishankar noted that India’s ability to engage with diverse nations, including Russia, Ukraine, Israel, and Iran, sets it apart in a polarized world. He referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visits to Moscow and Kyiv, stressing India's capacity to navigate complex global dynamics. "India is a member of both Quad and BRICS, reflecting our unique position in balancing global relationships," he said.
Jaishankar emphasized India's economic ascent to the fifth-largest globally, with projections to reach the third spot in the near future. He highlighted the digital revolution, with 16 billion monthly UPI transactions showcasing the widespread adoption of technology, even among low-income groups.
The External Affairs Minister urged the Indian diaspora to witness these changes firsthand, noting the "amazing rate of change" in the country. He concluded by stating that India's growing strength as a global partner and its evolving domestic landscape have made it a significant player on the world stage.
