Chennai: Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has confirmed that the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) would join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Addressing a press briefing in Chennai alongside PMK chief Anbumani Ramadoss, Palaniswami said, “AIADMK, BJP, and PMK are in alliance. Several other parties are also likely to join us soon". He added that the alliance had the backing of party cadres and leaders.

Calling it a “winning alliance”, he said, “Ours is a winning alliance which will remove the DMK. We will all work together and gain a massive victory,” while noting that details of talks with other parties would be announced later.

Praising the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss said they were providing strong leadership not just at the national level but also in Tamil Nadu. He said NDA allies would look up to Modi and Shah for guidance in the state.
