Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is soon going to reunite with her 'Chennai Express' and 'Jawan' co-star Shah Rukh Khan on screen. According to a report in PeepingMoon.com, Deepika will be working with SRK in his home production 'King'. According to the report, Deepika will play the role of Suhana Khan's mother in the much-anticipated movie.
'King', which is being directed by Siddharth Anand, has been produced by Marflix Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment. Deepika will be seen in the role of a former lover of Shah Rukh's character in the movie, which is being described as a revenge thriller. The report further suggested that Deepika Padukone's role is an extended cameo, but it is an important part of the plot.
According to reports, ‘King’ is loosely based on the action thriller ‘Bichhoo’ (2000) which had actors Bobby Deol and Rani Mukerji in the lead. The 2000 film was an unofficial remake of the 1994 French film, ‘Léon: The Professional’ (1994). It is being reported that Shah Rukh is likely to play the role of an assassin who embarks on a vengeance quest alongside Suhana Khan’s character after a horrific event upends her life.
The film is now in its pre-production stage, and the film is likely to go on floors next month in Mumbai. 'King' is aiming for a 2026 theatrical release. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh and Deepika will also work together in Yash Raj Films’ ‘Pathaan 2’, as per media reports.
