New York: On September 27, a Golden Jubilee celebration was held at the Marriott Marquis, in Times Square, New York, highlighting the exemplary career of the world famous Head and Neck Surgeon Dr. Jatin P. Shah from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC).
The function was attended by dignitaries and leaders in Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology from 29 countries, making it a global event. The scientific program in the afternoon consisted of presentations by contemporary leaders and researchers from around the globe, giving a current landscape of frontier issues in cancer care. The presentations highlighted discoveries and current issues in cancer research.

The Gala Dinner in the evening was a spectacular event with presentations from faculty members at MSKCC highlighting Dr. Shah’s career contributions and achievements at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and his academic achievements and global leadership in cancer care education and research. Dr. Shah received accolades from the European Head and Neck Society and the International College of Maxillofacial Surgery. The evening included a special tribute to Dr. Shah by none other than Michael Douglas, a legend from Hollywood and a cancer survivor himself. In closing, Dr. Shah stated that this is “not” a retirement party. This is just another milestone in his career. He continues all his activities at MSKCC in full swing.
