Washington, DC: Rep. Grace Meng (NY-06), Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), issued the following statement in response to an Arizona state legislator calling for the execution of U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal (WA-07):
“CAPAC unequivocally condemns the death threat made against Rep. Pramila Jayapal by an elected official in Arizona, who called on the Congresswoman to be ‘tried, convicted and hanged.’ This is dangerous and completely unacceptable. At a time when political violence is surging across the country, our nation’s leaders must categorically reject violence in all its forms.”
