New York, NY- What happened in Boulder was not just a hate crime—it was a full-scale terrorist attack against the Jewish people on American soil. A man threw Molotov cocktails and used a flamethrower to set elderly Jewish community members on fire during a peaceful walk. This is barbaric. It is evil. And it demands the strongest possible response from every level of government.
I am calling for federal terrorism charges, full prosecution to the maximum extent of the law, and immediate action to protect Jewish communities across the country. We cannot afford another moment of hesitation or silence. If we do not act decisively now, we are complicit.
Let me be clear: antisemitism is not someone else’s problem. It is our problem. And I will use every tool I have—as a legislator, as a candidate for citywide office, and as a New Yorker—to stop it.
To those who traffic in antisemitic hate: you will be held accountable. To those who stay silent: your silence is noted. To the Jewish community: I see you. I stand with you. And I will never back down.
Enough is enough. The time to crush antisemitism is now.
