The Consulate General of India, New York, in collaboration with the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), organized the 1st Virtual Exhibition and Buyer–Seller Meet for the Indian textiles and apparel sector on June 29, 2026, through the India–USA Trade Facilitation Portal.

Amb. Binaya Pradhan, Consul General of India in New York; Dr. Ajay Kumar, Minister (Commerce), Embassy of India, Washington DC; and Padma Shri Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman, AEPC, highlighted the importance of this digital initiative and the emerging opportunities it offers for cross-border growth of Indian sellers in the U.S. market.

The virtual exhibition enabled Indian exporters to hold live interactions and discussions with U.S. importers and showcase their products through virtual booths. The event witnessed vibrant participation from 22 Indian textile and apparel exporters and 40 U.S. importers.

AEPC coordinated with Indian exporters for their participation in the exhibition. This first Virtual Exhibition and Buyer–Seller Meet marks an important step towards deepening India–U.S. trade ties and empowering Indian exporters to expand their global reach.
