Hempstead, NY: Renu Jain "Laali" presented "Kalaam", a collection of Sufi poetry through her music on June 20 at the Pandit Jasraj Auditorium of Vedic Heritage Hanuman Temple. Her soulful singing was appreciated by scores of community members and music connoisseurs alike. Though she has been singing publicly for some years, this was her first solo performance.
The program also featured NayanMitra’s spiritual art. The collaboration between him and Renu Jain helped the audience dive into the deep-rooted philosophy of Sufi poetry and its representation not only through Renu's music but also in live painting by NayanMitra as inspired by Renu’s renditions. Some members in the audience readily bought those paintings to savor them at leisure.
The event aimed to promote creativity, unity, and appreciation of diverse artistic traditions. “We are delighted to bring the community together through our vision of cultural enrichment and artistic expression,” said Renu Jain. “This event reflects our commitment to fostering creativity, understanding, and community engagement.”
