Special Olympics New York and Jericho School District host Unified Youth Summit

200 sudents from 16 Long Island High Schools expected to attend

Jericho, NY – 200 Long Island high school students with and without intellectual disabilities will attend a Unified Youth Summit at Jericho High School on Friday, November 21. Alongside 50 of their educators, students will learn how to develop a plan to grow social inclusion and Unified programming in their schools.

  • When: Friday, November 21, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Where: Jericho High School (99 Cedar Swamp Road, Jericho, NY 11753)
  • What: The Special Olympics New York Unified Youth Summit is a free event for Long Island high school students offered as part of the Unified Champion Schools Program. The goal of this event is to bring students with and without disabilities together in a conference setting to educate and inspire them to make a positive impact in their communities. 
  • Who: 200 Long Island students with and without intellectual disabilities and 50 educators from the following high schools/districts: Carle Place, East Rockaway, Floral Park, Freeport, Glen Cove, Great Neck, Jericho, JFK High School (Bellmore), Manhasset, Massapequa, Mepham High School, New Hyde Park, Port Washington, Syosset, Wantagh, and the Wheatley School.
