Charles B. Wang Community Health Center offers same-day medical care — especially during allergy season

Friday, 16 May, 2025

New York, NY: Seasonal allergies can cause sudden and uncomfortable symptoms, making it difficult to go about your day. That’s why the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC) is making it easier than ever to get the care you need—right when you need it. With same-day appointments available at its Manhattan and Queens locations, CBWCHC offers timely, high-quality care with the personal attention of a trusted health care provider.

“Same-day care at our Health Center isn’t just for things like allergy flare-ups,” said Dr. Radeyah Hack, Deputy Chief Medical Officer at CBWCHC. “It’s also a great opportunity to check in with your care team, get ahead on preventive care, and stay on top of any chronic conditions—so you’re not just getting better today, but staying healthier in the long run.”

Same-day appointments are especially helpful for individuals experiencing allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itchy eyes, congestion, or asthma-related issues. Families can quickly secure appointments when they have non-emergency health concerns or need a checkup promptly.

CBWCHC’s same-day services are available at all clinical locations in Lower Manhattan and Flushing, Queens—helping patients access care close to home. These appointments are part of the Health Center’s commitment to removing barriers to care by offering language support, accepting most major insurance plans, and providing discounted fees based on family size and income. No one is turned away due to immigration history or ability to pay.

To schedule a same-day appointment, call 718-587-1200. For more information, visit www.cbwchc.org

The Chinatown Health Clinic Foundation (CHCF) held its Annual Gala on Monday at Tribeca 360°, located in lower Manhattan.

This year, CHCF and the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC) held their gala in honor of Walter and Shirley Wang, who played an integral part in supporting expanded access to health care for Asian American immigrants and other vulnerable populations across New York City. Their generous $2.97million donation has helped fund critical improvements including the establishment of a new Primary Eye Care suite in Flushing, Queens, the renovation of CBWCHC’s pediatric suite in Manhattan’s Chinatown, and the hiring of additional health care professionals across the Health Center’s six service locations.

“We are deeply grateful to Walter and Shirley Wang for their steadfast commitment to public health and their dedication to our mission,” said Dr. Raymond Fong, President of the Chinatown Health Clinic Foundation, which leads fundraising efforts for CBWCHC. “The Wangs’ support will have a lasting impact on our ability to provide care for those most in need, and we are honored to receive this donation from a family that has done so much for health care on both a local and global scale.”

The gala featured a diverse program, including remarks from speakers like Kaushal Challa, CEO of CBWCHC, and Dr. Jim Yong Kim, Vice Chairman and Partner of Global Infrastructure Partners. The evening culminated in the award presentation to Walter and Shirley Wang.
